Upper Lusatia is at the spot where Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic meet, set at the heart of Europe, close by the metropolises of Berlin, Prague, Wrocław and Dresden. The holiday region offers visitors some unique highlights for day trips and holidays:
Görlitz / Zgorzelec – “the real heart of Europe” – is a city of special European significance, a unique city of culture where tourists are greeted with impressive architecture. A splendid, uninterrupted array of late Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque and Jugendstil buildings hold visitors in their spell.
Prince Hermann von Pückler-Muskau, a famous landscape gardener, created a world-famous landscaped park in Muskau which has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2004. The river Neisse connects the Polish and German sides of the park, which was laid out as a whole, cohesive work of art almost 200 years ago.
